A taste of Burgundy

A treat for all the senses

montbard-bourgogne

You will need to come back to Burgundy several times to take in all its secrets and diversity! From the Morvan regional nature reserve to the Grand Route des Vins de Bourgogne, and the Roche de Solutré to the Cistercian abbeys... not forgetting its colourful and lively towns, Burgundy has thousands of treasures. Take advantage of Hotel de l’Ecu’s privileged location to discover some of them!

In the North of Burgundy, just an hour and a half from Paris by car, you will find yourself on the Yonne wine route. This enchanting route takes you to the heart of the Chablis and Grand Auxerrois winegrowing regions. Further East, continue your trip along the Route du Crémant: you will enter the Pays Châtillonais, where the Crémant de Bourgogne reigns supreme.

Further South, taking the Dijon exit (75 km from Montbard), take the Route des Grands Crus, an exceptional route leading to some of the most prestigious Burgundy wines. You will first go through the Côte de Nuits, its reputed terroirs and its famous villages, including Gevrey-Chambertin, Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges. Nicknamed the “Champs Elysées of Burgundy”, this region is no wider than 300 metres in some places. Then take off along the cycling route between Beaune and Santenay, not forgetting to visit the famous Hospices in Beaune. On your journey, you will be welcomed to two areas labelled “Vineyards and Discoveries”: Dijon, Côte de Nuits and the Colline de Corton and the Colline de Montrachet. This label guarantees high quality wine tourism services.
